Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be a New South Wales Aboriginal organisation. • Eligible organisation types include Local Aboriginal Land Councils, Registered Native Title Body Corporates, Traditional Owner groups, Aboriginal Corporations and equivalent Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. • Applicant must own the land where the carbon project will be implemented. • Land must include a minimum of 5 hectares suitable for an environmental planting project under the Australian Carbon Credit Unit Scheme. • Proposed project must be an Environmental Planting project between 5 and 200 hectares. • Land must have been clear of forest for at least 5 years. • Project must comply with the Australian Carbon Credit Unit Scheme requirements for a mixed species Environmental Planting project. • Applicant must be willing to plant native canopy trees, shrubs and understory plants. • Applicant must maintain the planting so forest cover is established for at least 25 years. • Applicant must meet insurance and financial viability requirements. • A minimum co-contribution of 10% is required and may be cash or in-kind. • Application must include a budget and map of the planting area. • Individuals are not eligible to apply.
