Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be an organisation developing technologies to capture, utilise or remove CO2. • Project must involve pilot or demonstration activities. • Technology must be novel or emerging carbon capture, utilisation or removal technology. • Eligible examples include direct air capture, enhanced rock weathering, biomass carbon removal and storage, biochar sequestration, and mineral carbonation technologies. • Conventional or land-based approaches leveraging natural biological systems without technological intervention are not eligible. • Excluded approaches include afforestation/reforestation, peatland or wetland restoration, and agroforestry.
This round is for organisations developing technologies to capture, utilise or remove CO2. The program supports pilot and demonstration projects for novel or emerging carbon capture, utilisation and removal technologies. Eligible technology examples include novel or emerging carbon capture and/or utilisation for hard-to-abate sectors; direct air capture; enhanced rock weathering; biomass carbon removal and storage including durable sequestration of carbon in biochar; and mineral carbonation technology such as capturing carbon in building and other materials. Conventional and land-based approaches that leverage natural biological systems without technological intervention are not eligible, including afforestation/reforestation, peatland or wetland restoration, and agroforestry.

What's Funded

Pilot and demonstration projects involving novel or emerging carbon capture, utilisation and removal technologies, including research, development and demonstration activities for hard-to-abate sectors and durable sequestration applications.
