Who Can Apply

Must have an active ABN and be registered for GST. Must be an incorporated Australian entity, eligible incorporated trustee, state or territory government agency or body, or corporate Commonwealth entity. Individuals, partnerships, unincorporated associations and most trusts cannot apply. Applicants and project partners must not be on the National Redress Scheme non-participation list, and large employers must comply with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012.
Applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN), be registered for GST, and be one of the following: an entity incorporated in Australia; an incorporated trustee applying on behalf of a trust where the trading activities are a significant or substantial activity of the corporation; an Australian state or territory government agency or body; or a corporate Commonwealth entity. Ineligible applicants include organisations listed on the National Redress Scheme non-participation list, employers with 100 or more employees that have not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, individuals, partnerships, Regional Development Australia Committees, unincorporated associations, and trusts unless applying through an incorporated trustee. Applicants may partner with other eligible organisations, with one lead organisation responsible for the application and grant agreement.

Projects are expected to advance technological and commercial readiness of carbon management technologies, demonstrate verifiable permanence of sequestered CO2, support capability development, and help create new low-emissions or net-zero industries.
