Who is eligible for the Breast Imaging Advanced Trainee Grant?
- Applicant must be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), or a Registrar who has completed and passed Phase 2 of RANZCR training requirements and is in Phase 3/final year of training.
- Registrar applicants must have completed 8 weeks / 80 sessions in a diagnostic department or in a breast screen and assessment unit.
- Applicant must be available to commence the traineeship in 2026.
- Applicant must demonstrate highly developed diagnostic skills, empathy, communication ability, commitment to multidisciplinary cancer care, research capability, teaching ability, and understanding of cancer radiology developments.
- Applicant must provide evidence of being a resident of New South Wales during the traineeship.
- Applicant must provide evidence of being affiliated with or a Fellow of RANZCR.
- Applicant must provide evidence of appropriate AHPRA registration to allow clinical practice.
- The program must be hosted in an institution within the New South Wales Health public sector services and/or a hospital providing services for, and/or linked to BreastScreen NSW.
- The supervisor must demonstrate successful mentorship of trainees within the last five years, capacity to mentor the trainee and supervise research, and a developed breast imaging training and research plan.
- The administering institution must demonstrate ability to train specialists and registrars in diagnostic breast radiology over the last five years, capacity to provide a diagnostic practice appointment, and capacity to support the proposed research project.
