Who Can Apply
• Be an employing business with fewer than 20 full-time equivalent employees
• Be currently registered with WorkSafe Victoria
• Hold an active Australian Business Number continuously from 2023-12-16
• Be registered for Goods and Services Tax continuously from 2024-12-16
• Be located in an eligible local government area: Ararat, Hindmarsh, Horsham, Northern Grampians, Southern Grampians or West Wimmera
• Have a decline in ordinary revenue of at least 10000 over a three consecutive month period between 2024-12-16 and 2025-04-26 due to the bushfires
• Have a revenue decline of at least 40% compared with the same three-month period in the previous year
• Have been actively trading before the bushfires
• Plan to continue operating in the eligible local government area
• Not be insolvent or bankrupt
• Provide a letter from a Qualified Agent verifying the revenue decline and employee count
• If a not-for-profit business, be registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission or similar State or Territory regulator
Applicants must be employing businesses with fewer than 20 full-time equivalent employees and currently registered with WorkSafe Victoria. They must have an active ABN held continuously from 16 December 2023, be registered for GST continuously from 16 December 2024, and be located in an eligible local government area: Ararat, Hindmarsh, Horsham, Northern Grampians, Southern Grampians or West Wimmera. The business must have experienced a decline of at least $10,000 in ordinary revenue over a three consecutive month period between 16 December 2024 and 26 April 2025 due to the 2024-25 Western Victoria bushfires, and that decline must be at least 40% compared with the same three-month period in the previous year. Applicants must have been actively trading before the bushfires, plan to continue operating in the eligible LGA, and not be insolvent or bankrupt. A letter from a Qualified Agent is required to verify the revenue decline and employee count. Not-for-profit businesses must also be registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission or a similar State or Territory regulatory body.
