Who Can Apply

Must be an eligible incorporated community, not-for-profit, Aboriginal organisation, social enterprise, local school, or apply via an eligible auspice. Project should benefit a community affected by the 2019-20 Victorian bushfires, especially in North East or East Gippsland. Individuals, sole traders, government departments, fixed trusts, commercial enterprises, LGAs, TAFEs and universities cannot apply directly. Unincorporated groups or applicants without an ABN may apply with an eligible auspice organisation.
Eligible applicants include community, not-for-profit or Aboriginal organisations that are incorporated legal entities under relevant Commonwealth or Victorian legislation, social enterprises with a clearly stated mission specifically related to supporting bushfire recovery, local schools, and auspice organisations managing a grant on behalf of an applicant. Groups that are not incorporated or do not have a valid Australian Business Number may still apply through an eligible auspice organisation. Projects are expected to be located in areas impacted by the 2019-20 Victorian Bushfires, specifically the North East and East Gippsland regions. Ineligible applicants include state and federal government departments and agencies, individuals and sole traders, fixed trusts, commercial enterprises, Local Government Authorities and related trusts as direct applicants, and registered TAFE institutes and universities as direct applicants.
