Who Can Apply
• Applicant must be an Aboriginal organisation that is an incorporated legal entity, or a social enterprise with a clearly stated purpose related specifically to supporting Aboriginal communities in bushfire recovery
• Applicant must be capable of reporting to BRV on funded project outcomes and activities
• Stream 1 applicants must have had their Country directly impacted by the 2019-20 bushfires
• Applicant must have a current Australian Business Number (ABN), unless applying through an eligible auspice organisation
• Applicant must have no outstanding final reports or final reports required for previous government grant programs
• Organisations that are not incorporated or do not have an ABN may apply with an eligible auspice organisation that agrees to manage the grant
• State and federal government departments and agencies cannot apply
• Individuals and sole traders cannot apply
• Unincorporated community organisations cannot apply as lead applicants
• Commercial enterprises cannot apply alone as lead applicants
• Fixed trusts cannot apply
• Local councils, and registered schools, preschools, TAFE institutes and universities cannot apply as lead applicants, but may act as auspice organisations

Organisations that were not incorporated or did not have an ABN could still apply with support from an eligible auspice organisation that agreed to manage the grant. Ineligible lead applicants included state and federal government departments and agencies, individuals and sole traders, unincorporated community organisations, commercial enterprises, fixed trusts, local councils, and registered schools, preschools, TAFE institutes and universities, although some of these could act as auspice organisations or partners.
