- Applicant must be an Aboriginal organisation that is an incorporated legal entity, or a social enterprise with a clearly stated purpose related specifically to supporting Aboriginal communities in bushfire recovery
- Applicant must be capable of reporting to BRV on funded project outcomes and activities
- Stream 1 applicants must have had their Country directly impacted by the 2019-20 bushfires
- Applicant must have a current Australian Business Number (ABN), unless applying through an eligible auspice organisation
- Applicant must have no outstanding final reports or final reports required for previous government grant programs
- Organisations that are not incorporated or do not have an ABN may apply with an eligible auspice organisation that agrees to manage the grant
- State and federal government departments and agencies cannot apply
- Individuals and sole traders cannot apply
- Unincorporated community organisations cannot apply as lead applicants
- Commercial enterprises cannot apply alone as lead applicants
- Fixed trusts cannot apply
- Local councils, and registered schools, preschools, TAFE institutes and universities cannot apply as lead applicants, but may act as auspice organisations
