Who Can Apply

• Applicants can include councils, Joint Organisations of Councils, not-for-profit organisations, research or academic organisations, State Government corporations, and Local Aboriginal Land Councils • For-profit organisations and state government agencies may be eligible only where projects deliver a clear public benefit • Individuals, sole traders, partnerships, certain unincorporated associations, and certain discretionary investment trusts are ineligible • Projects must support recovery of the local community’s economy, social wellbeing, environment, or improve resilience to future natural disasters • Projects must be able to commence within six months of the funding deed being executed • Projects must be completed by 2023-06-30 • Projects must align with one of these categories: enabling infrastructure; industry and business development; social development; natural environment and resource development; built environment adaption • Projects are not eligible if they fund day-to-day delivery of essential or core local government services • Projects are not eligible if they provide exclusive private benefits or direct commercial benefit to an individual or business
Applicants may include councils, Joint Organisations of Councils, not-for-profit organisations including business chambers, industry associations and charities, research or academic organisations, State Government corporations, and Local Aboriginal Land Councils. For-profit organisations and state government agencies may be eligible where projects deliver a clear public benefit. Ineligible applicants include individuals, groups of individuals, sole traders, partnerships, unincorporated associations that are not registered not-for-profit organisations, and discretionary investment trusts that are not registered not-for-profit organisations. Eligible projects must support recovery of the local community’s economy, social wellbeing, environment, or improve resilience to future natural disasters; commence within six months of the funding deed being executed; be completed by 30 June 2023; and align with one of the specified project categories.
