Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be a non-government school in New South Wales. • School must be registered with the NSW Education Standards Authority. • School must operate on a not-for-profit basis. • School must be affiliated with one of the Block Grant Authorities. • School must demonstrate financial viability to its Block Grant Authority. • School must own the land or hold an appropriate lease over the land and/or buildings. • Projects must be capital works for education and learning spaces at primary and/or secondary level. • New schools may be recommended, but funding cannot be released until NESA registration is approved.
To be eligible, a non-government school must be registered with the NSW Education Standards Authority, operate on a not-for-profit basis within the meaning of section 83C of the Education Act 1990, be affiliated with one of the Block Grant Authorities, demonstrate financial viability to its Block Grant Authority, and own the land or hold a lease over the land and/or buildings for a period commensurate with any potential grant repayment period. Capital projects must provide education and learning spaces at primary and/or secondary levels in non-government schools registered by NESA. New schools may be recommended for assistance, but funding cannot be released until registration has been approved by NESA.

Eligible activities include new capital developments, refurbishment of existing facilities, site preparation, essential furnishings and equipment, architectural and engineering fees, essential ground improvements, costs of meeting council development application conditions, compliance costs under government legislation, and in special circumstances the purchase of land or buildings for approved school capital projects.
