Who Can Apply

Must have an active ABN. Lead applicant must be an eligible incorporated Australian entity. Joint applications are allowed, but only one lead organisation can contract. Universities cannot apply alone, but may participate as partners in a joint application.
Applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be one of the following: an entity incorporated in Australia and a trading corporation, where trading activities are a sufficiently significant proportion of overall activities or are substantial and not merely peripheral; an incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust; an incorporated association; an incorporated not for profit organisation; or a publicly funded research agency (PFRA) as defined in the guidelines. Joint applications are welcome, but the lead organisation must be an eligible entity and will enter into a single grant agreement. Universities are not eligible to apply on their own, but can participate as members of a joint application where the lead applicant is eligible. Tax exempt entities are eligible.
