Who Can Apply

• Must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) • Must be an eligible incorporated entity in Australia • Eligible entities included trading corporations, incorporated trustees, incorporated associations, incorporated not for profit organisations, and publicly funded research agencies (PFRAs) • Joint applications were allowed • The lead organisation in a joint application had to be an eligible entity • Universities were not eligible to apply on their own • Universities could participate as partners in a joint application with an eligible lead • Tax exempt entities were eligible to apply
Applicants had to have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be one of the following: an entity incorporated in Australia and a trading corporation with substantial trading activities; an incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust; an incorporated association; an incorporated not for profit organisation; or a publicly funded research agency (PFRA) as defined in the guidelines. Joint applications were permitted, but the lead organisation had to be an eligible entity and would enter into a single grant agreement. Universities were not eligible to apply on their own, but could participate in joint applications where the lead applicant was eligible. Tax exempt entities were eligible following a guideline clarification.
