Who is eligible for the Boating Infrastructure for Communities?
- Applications are welcomed from local councils, government agencies, community groups and the private sector.
- A Registration of Interest must have been submitted for the same or equivalent project scope.
- The project must provide direct benefits to boaters.
- The project must be available for use by the general boating public and located in an area with appropriate public access once completed.
- The applicant must own or have tenure over the land and waters, or provide evidence of landowner support, approval or consent.
- The applicant must retain control and/or ownership of the funded infrastructure after completion and be responsible for ongoing management and maintenance.
- Project construction must not have commenced when the formal application is submitted.
- The applicant must have an Australian Business Number (ABN).
- The applicant must hold public liability insurance of at least $20 million per occurrence, have satisfactory self-insurance, or confirm willingness to obtain relevant insurance before executing a funding agreement.
- For dredging projects, the applicant must contribute at least 25% of total project cost.
- For all other projects, the applicant must contribute at least 50% of total project cost, with exceptions potentially allowing a minimum 25% contribution if justified.
