Who Can Apply

• Be the registered owner of a crewed aircraft operating under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) or Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) • Aircraft must be shown in an approved registration database, including CASA registers or an approved Australian Sport Aviation organisation register • Purchase and/or install eligible ADS-B equipment in the registered aircraft • For ADS-B-OUT or ADS-B EC devices, the purchase/installation must be after 2021-12-20 • For ADS-B-IN or ADS-B-IN and OUT devices, the purchase/installation must be after 2024-05-31 • Cannot claim both an ADS-B-OUT device and an ADS-B EC device for the same aircraft • If the aircraft received a grant under ADS-B Round 1, eligibility is limited to equipment that adds ADS-B IN functionality not previously available, or an upgrade from an EC device to installed equipment
To apply, applicants must be the registered owner of a crewed aircraft operating under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) or Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and listed in an approved registration database, including the CASA Australian aircraft register for VH aircraft, a registration database managed by CASA, or an approved Australian Sport Aviation organisation such as Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAus), Australian Sport Rotorcraft Association (ASRA), or Sports Aviation Federation of Australia (SAFA). Applicants must have purchased and/or installed in their registered aircraft either a device providing ADS-B-OUT functionality or an ADS-B EC device, but not both, after 20 December 2021, or a device providing ADS-B-IN functionality or ADS-B-IN and OUT functionality after 31 May 2024. If a grant was previously paid for the aircraft under ADS-B Round 1, the applicant is only eligible if the equipment adds ADS-B IN functionality not previously available, or if they are upgrading from an EC device to installed equipment.
