Who Can Apply

• Be the registered owner of a crewed aircraft operating under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) or Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). • Aircraft must be shown in an approved registration database, including the CASA Australian aircraft register, a CASA-managed registration database, or an approved Australian Sport Aviation organisation database. • Purchase and/or install in the registered aircraft either a device providing ADS-B-OUT functionality or an ADS-B EC device, but not both, after 20 December 2021. • Alternatively, purchase and/or install a device providing ADS-B-IN functionality or a device providing ADS-B-IN and OUT functionality after 31 May 2024. • If the aircraft previously received a grant under ADS-B Round 1, eligibility only applies where the new equipment adds ADS-B IN functionality not previously available, or upgrades from an EC device to installed equipment.
Applicants must be the registered owner of a crewed aircraft operating under VFR or IFR and listed in an approved registration database, including the CASA Australian aircraft register, a CASA-managed registration database, or an approved Australian Sport Aviation organisation database such as RAAus, ASRA or SAFA. Applicants must have purchased and/or installed eligible ADS-B equipment in their registered aircraft after the specified dates: ADS-B-OUT or ADS-B EC equipment after 20 December 2021, or ADS-B-IN or ADS-B-IN and OUT equipment after 31 May 2024. If a grant was previously paid for the aircraft under ADS-B Round 1, applicants are only eligible where the new equipment adds ADS-B IN functionality not previously available, or where they are upgrading from an EC device to installed equipment.
