Who Can Apply

• Lead applicant must be an industry organisation. • Project must include at least one Austrian project partner. • Austrian project partner must apply for funding under the Austrian program. • Project must have at least $600,000 in eligible project expenditure. • Grant amount is from $150,000 to $3,500,000 and covers up to 25% of eligible project expenditure. • Total Australian or Austrian project cost must not exceed 60% of total project cost. • Project activities must be undertaken in both Australia and Austria. • Project must provide all mandatory attachments. • Joint or consortium applications are permitted. • Australian application must include letters of support from all project partners. • Project must be or be directly linked to a physical demonstration or pilot test plant. • Project must be within Technology Readiness Level 5 to 8. • Eligible sectors are ironmaking and steelmaking, chemicals manufacturing, lime and cement, and alumina and aluminium. • Cash contributions cannot come from other Commonwealth Government grants.
Applicants must be industry organisations applying as the lead Australian partner in a joint project with at least one Austrian project partner. The Austrian partner must also apply for funding under the Austrian program. Projects must have at least $600,000 in eligible project expenditure, and the Australian grant can cover up to 25% of eligible project expenditure. The total Australian or Austrian project cost may not exceed 60% of the total project cost. Activities must be undertaken in both Australia and Austria. Projects must advance innovative technologies, processes or solutions for industrial decarbonisation in eligible hard-to-abate sectors: ironmaking and steelmaking, chemicals manufacturing, production of lime and cement, or alumina and aluminium production. Projects must be or be directly linked to a physical demonstration or pilot test plant with Technology Readiness Level 5 to 8. Joint or consortium applications are allowed, with the lead organisation required to be an industry organisation. Applicants must provide all mandatory attachments, including letters of support from project partners. Cash contributions cannot come from other Commonwealth Government grants.
