The Australia-Austria Industrial Decarbonisation Demonstration Partnerships Program provides funding for joint Australian and Austrian decarbonisation projects. Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be an industry organisation leading the Australian application. • Project must include at least one Austrian project partner. • Austrian project partner must apply for funding under the Austrian program. • A transnational application must also be submitted in addition to the Australian and Austrian applications. • Project activities must be undertaken in both Australia and Austria. • Project must have at least 600000 in eligible project expenditure. • Grant amount is from 150000 to 3500000 and covers up to 25% of eligible project expenditure. • Total Australian or Austrian project cost must not exceed 60% of total project cost. • Remaining project costs must be covered by applicant and partner contributions in cash or in kind. • Cash contributions cannot come from other Commonwealth Government grants. • Project must be directly linked to a physical demonstration or pilot test plant. • Project must be at Technology Readiness Level 5 to 8. • Eligible sectors are ironmaking and steelmaking, chemicals manufacturing, lime and cement production, and alumina and aluminium production. • Mandatory attachments must be provided. • Joint or consortia applications are accepted, but the lead organisation must be an industry organisation.
Applicants must be industry organisations applying in partnership with at least one Austrian project partner that is also applying under the Austrian program. Projects must be joint Australian-Austrian decarbonisation demonstration or pilot/test projects with activities undertaken in both Australia and Austria. The lead Australian partner must submit the Australian application, and a transnational application must also be submitted. Projects must have at least $600,000 in eligible project expenditure, and the Australian grant can cover up to 25% of total eligible project expenditure. The total Australian or Austrian project cost may not exceed 60% of the total project cost. Cash contributions cannot come from other Commonwealth Government grants. Projects must be directly linked to a physical demonstration or pilot test plant with Technology Readiness Level 5 to 8 and must support innovative decarbonisation in eligible sectors: ironmaking and steelmaking, chemicals manufacturing, lime and cement production, or alumina and aluminium production. Joint applications and consortia are permitted, with the lead organisation required to be an industry organisation. Mandatory attachments, including partner support documentation, must be provided.
