Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be an individual aged 18 years or over. • Applicant must currently live in New South Wales and have done so for at least 12 months. • If successful, applicant must have a sole trader ABN, or a private company ABN where the individual is the sole director, or provide details of a funds administrator and nominated bank account. • Project must be a clearly defined arts and cultural activity benefiting an individual NSW artist or arts and cultural worker. • Project must provide professional and/or skills development opportunities to advance the applicant's career. • Project must start after 2025-09-01 and be completed by 2026-12-31. • Applicant may submit only one project application in this funding round. • Applicant must contribute at least 5% of project income from other cash or in-kind support. • Applicant cannot have received Create NSW or Sound NSW funding for the same part of the project. • Applicant cannot have already started the project. • Project cannot start or finish before the funding period starts. • Funding is not available for professional development related to films, television shows, film festivals or contemporary music. • Current Create NSW employees and those employed by Create NSW in the last 12 months are ineligible. • Organisations, partnerships and groups or entities without legal status are ineligible. • Applicants successful in the previous Next Steps project round cannot apply or be successful in this round.
Applicants must be individuals aged 18 or over who have been living in New South Wales for at least 12 months. The project must start after 1 September 2025 and be completed by 31 December 2026. Applicants may submit only one project application in this funding round and must contribute at least 5% of project income from other cash or in-kind support. Ineligible applicants and projects include those already funded by Create NSW or Sound NSW for the same part of the project, projects already started, projects starting or finishing before the funding period starts, professional development related to films, television, film festivals or contemporary music, current or recent Create NSW employees, organisations, partnerships, groups without legal status, and previous successful recipients from the previous Next Steps project round.
