Who is eligible for the Aquaculture Industry Development Program?
- Applicant must be a company, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation, incorporated trustee of an Australian-based trust, incorporated association, co-operative, Australian university, sole trader or partnership.
- Stream 1 applicants may include commercial fishing endorsement holders, aquaculture permit holders, relevant natural resource management organisations, Aboriginal organisations and businesses, key associations or peak bodies, research organisations including Australian universities, and eligible post-harvest sector organisations.
- Stream 2 applicants include all Stream 1 applicant types plus private sector entities servicing a market for aquaculture waste products in the circular economy.
- Applicant must have an active Australian Business Number.
- Applicant must be financially viable.
- Applicant must hold or commit to obtaining public liability insurance of at least $20 million per occurrence.
- Applicant must be a fit and proper person or legal entity.
- Applicant must not be insolvent, bankrupt or subject to ongoing legal proceedings.
- Applicant must declare that it is not aware of issues that could cause reputational or other risks to the New South Wales Government.
- Applicant must have previous project delivery experience or access to the necessary expertise and support.
- Applicant must provide evidence of capacity to make the minimum co-contribution if successful, where applicable.
- Applicant should be registered in relevant ANZSIC codes, or otherwise provide supporting information for discretionary consideration.
- Project must be located in an eligible New South Wales local government area.
- Project must request between $100,000 and $2,000,000.
- Project must commence within 6 months of the funding deed and be completed within 4 years.
- Project on private land requires landowner consent where the applicant is not the owner.
- Applicant must identify required approvals and demonstrate they can be obtained within 6 months of the funding deed commencement.
- Research-based or supply chain innovation projects must conclude with outputs directly applicable by industry.
- Eligible applicants must generally provide a financial co-contribution of at least 20% of total project cost, with limited exemptions possible.
- New South Wales Government and other government entities cannot apply.
