Who Can Apply

Must operate an eligible business in a Victorian alpine resort, Dinner Plain, or specified surrounding Victorian local government areas. On-mountain/Dinner Plain stream is limited to specified visitor-facing business categories such as hospitality, retail, visitor services, and some accommodation businesses. Off-mountain stream is limited to businesses in five named local government areas whose primary activity is snow equipment rental, winter tours, or alpine bus transfers. Businesses can only receive funding from one stream, not both.
Applicants had to operate an eligible business affected by COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria’s alpine resort areas. For the On-mountain and Dinner Plain stream, applicants had to operate within a Victorian alpine resort or Dinner Plain in one of these categories: food and beverage venue; retail outlet; business providing services directly to visitors or contributing to the visitor experience; or an accommodation business with a public on-site food and beverage venue or retail outlet. For the Off-mountain stream, businesses had to be located within Alpine Shire, Mansfield Shire, Murrindindi Shire, Baw Baw Shire, or East Gippsland Shire, and their primary activity had to be rental of snow equipment for use within a Victorian alpine resort, winter tours within a Victorian alpine resort, or bus transfers to, from and within a Victorian alpine resort. Businesses could only receive a grant from one stream and could not receive funding from both. Employing businesses in the on-mountain stream were identified as registered with WorkSafe Victoria.
