The All-Ages Live Music Venue Program supports dedicated New South Wales live music venues to deliver a series of at least three all-ages contemporary music events. Funding is intended to build new audiences, increase youth-inclusive live music opportunities, and strengthen venue capacity to deliver safe and accessible events.

Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be a dedicated live music venue based in New South Wales. • Venue may be licensed or unlicensed, but live music must be the primary function of the business. • Venue must program predominantly new and original contemporary live music and promote this prominently in marketing. • Venue must have a dedicated live music space with appropriate infrastructure for regular performances. • Venue must follow best industry practices and have formal arrangements for artist payments. • Venue must hold an active OneMusic Licence for live music performances. • Metropolitan venues must program live music at least 10 nights per month. • Regional venues must program live music on average 2 nights per week. • Applicant must be identified as essential to the domestic touring live music ecosystem. • Applicant must have majority Australian ownership. • If the premises are not owned by the operator, the applicant must hold a lease or occupancy agreement with at least 2 years remaining from the application close date. • Applicant must identify a relevant youth partner to collaborate on designing and delivering the event series. • Applicant must either be an incorporated entity or trust with an ABN or ACN, or be registered with NSW Fair Trading under the relevant legislation. • Venue must have been operating for at least 12 months at the time of application. • Applicant must provide a co-contribution of at least 30% of the overall project budget, unless waived at the decision-maker's discretion. • Project must deliver a minimum of 3 all-ages events. • Events must engage young people aged 12 to 24 years. • Project cannot start before 2026-07-01 and must be completed by 2027-06-01. • Applicants are ineligible if located outside New South Wales, not a dedicated live music venue, have unmet prior Sound NSW acquittal/reporting obligations, or previously received funding for Live Performance Venue Grants Round 2 2025-26.
Applicants must be dedicated live music venues based in New South Wales. Eligible venues may be licensed or unlicensed, but live music must be the primary function of the business, with predominantly new and original contemporary live music programming prominently marketed. The venue must have a dedicated live music space with suitable infrastructure, formal artist payment arrangements, and an active OneMusic Licence for live music performances. Metropolitan venues must program live music at least 10 nights per month, while regional venues must program on average two nights per week. Applicants must be identified as essential to the domestic touring live music ecosystem, have majority Australian ownership, hold a lease or occupancy agreement with at least 2 years remaining from the application close date where premises are not owned, and identify a relevant youth partner to collaborate on event design and delivery. Applicants must either be an incorporated entity or trust holding an ABN or ACN, or be registered with NSW Fair Trading under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 or the Co-operatives National Law (NSW). Ineligible applicants include venues outside New South Wales, venues that are not dedicated live music venues, venues that have not met prior Sound NSW funding obligations, venues funded under Live Performance Venue Grants Round 2 2025-26, venues planning fewer than 3 events or one-off events, venues whose events do not meet the youth definition, venues operating for less than 12 months at application, and venues unable to provide at least 30% co-contribution unless waived at the decision-maker's discretion. Projects cannot start before 2026-07-01 and must be completed by 2027-06-01.
