Who Can Apply

Applicants or participating teams must be based in Victoria. Participants must be African and/or Pasifika young people aged 12 to 25. Informal sports teams need support arrangements with eligible councils or community organisations to receive funding. Individuals, school clubs, inter-school university/TAFE clubs, fee-based activities and for-profit organisations are not eligible.
Eligible teams must live in Victoria, have African and/or Pasifika young people aged 12 to 25 as participants, and hold activities in a safe and inclusive environment. Informal sports teams can apply for Categories 1 and 2, but to receive funding they must enter into a support arrangement with a council or community organisation that meets the grant guideline criteria. Local government and community organisations can apply for or support an informal sports team if they meet the criteria to be funded through a service agreement with DFFH. Applications for individual young people, primary or secondary school sport and recreation clubs, university or TAFE sport clubs participating in inter-school competitions, and activities requiring membership registration or fees are not eligible. Commercial organisations or bodies established for profit-making purposes cannot apply.
