The 2025 Aboriginal Languages Revival Program provides grants to eligible Aboriginal community organisations, groups and certain Aboriginal sole traders in New South Wales to commence or build smaller-scale Aboriginal language projects and activities. Who Can Apply
• Must be a not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Organisation working with Aboriginal Communities in New South Wales, or an Aboriginal sole trader whose primary business activity relates to New South Wales languages and whose project is not profit making in nature.
• Eligible legal structures include Aboriginal corporations, Australian incorporated companies, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, incorporated associations, incorporated cooperatives, incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust, or unincorporated Aboriginal groups with a valid current auspice agreement.
• Applicants must be located in New South Wales and/or deliver services to communities within New South Wales.
• Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, public liability insurance of at least $10000000 per claim.
• Individuals are not eligible to apply.
• Federal, state or local government agencies and bodies, including public schools and hospitals, are not eligible.
• Schools, universities, TAFE, adult education and community education organisations are not eligible.
• For-profit organisations, including Aboriginal businesses, are not eligible except for certain Aboriginal sole trader businesses.
• Unincorporated organisations or groups without an eligible auspicing organisation are not eligible.
• Organisations, groups or sole traders that have not met project acquittal or reporting requirements for ALT funding received in the previous two years are not eligible.
• Applicants previously found to have provided false or misleading information in ALT grant applications are not eligible.
Applicants must be a not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Organisation working with Aboriginal Communities in New South Wales, or an Aboriginal sole trader whose primary business activity relates to New South Wales languages and whose project is not profit making in nature. Eligible legal forms include an Aboriginal Corporation registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006, a company incorporated in Australia, a Local Aboriginal Land Council, an Incorporated Association, an Incorporated Cooperative, an incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust, or an unincorporated Aboriginal group with a valid and current auspice agreement with an eligible organisation. Applicants must be located in New South Wales and/or deliver services to communities within New South Wales, and must have or be willing to obtain public liability insurance of at least $10 million per claim. Ineligible applicants include individuals, government agencies and bodies, schools, universities, TAFE and ACE organisations, for-profit organisations including Aboriginal businesses except certain Aboriginal sole trader businesses, unincorporated groups without eligible auspicing, organisations or sole traders that have not met Aboriginal Languages Trust project requirements in the previous two years, and applicants found to have provided false or misleading information in previous ALT grant applications.
