Who Can Apply

• Must have previously received at least two Aboriginal Languages Trust grants (excluding the Small Grant Program) and delivered them successfully. • Must be one of the eligible entity types: not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Organisation, eligible Aboriginal sole trader, Aboriginal Corporation, Australian incorporated company, Local Aboriginal Land Council, Incorporated Association, Incorporated Cooperative, incorporated trustee, or an unincorporated Aboriginal group with an eligible auspice arrangement. • Aboriginal sole trader applicants must have a primary business activity related to New South Wales Languages and projects must not be profit making in nature. • Must have public liability insurance of at least $10 million per claim, or be willing to purchase it and include the cost in the project budget. • Must declare whether there is any known actual or perceived conflict of interest with Aboriginal Languages Trust staff, executives or Board Members. • Must be located in New South Wales and/or deliver services to communities within New South Wales. • Projects must run within the period 2025-07-01 to 2027-06-30. • Individuals cannot apply. • Federal, State or Local Government agencies or bodies, including public schools and hospitals, cannot apply. • Schools, universities, TAFEs, adult education and ACE organisations cannot apply. • For-profit organisations cannot apply, except certain Aboriginal sole trader businesses. • Unincorporated organisations or groups without an eligible auspicing organisation cannot apply. • Organisations, groups or sole traders that have not met Aboriginal Languages Trust project requirements, including acquittal and reporting in the previous two years, cannot apply. • Applicants found to have provided false or misleading information in previous Aboriginal Languages Trust grant applications cannot apply.
Applicants must have previously received at least two Aboriginal Languages Trust grants (excluding the Small Grant Program) and delivered them successfully. Eligible applicants include not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Organisations working with Aboriginal Communities in New South Wales, Aboriginal sole traders whose primary business activity relates to New South Wales Languages and whose projects are not profit-making in nature, Aboriginal Corporations registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006, companies incorporated in Australia, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, Incorporated Associations, Incorporated Cooperatives, incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust, and unincorporated Aboriginal groups with a valid current auspice agreement with an eligible organisation. Applicants must have public liability insurance of at least $10 million per claim or be willing to purchase it, declare any actual or perceived conflicts of interest with Aboriginal Languages Trust staff, executives or board members, and be located in New South Wales and/or delivering a service to communities within New South Wales. Ineligible applicants include individuals, government agencies and bodies, schools, universities, TAFEs, ACE organisations, for-profit organisations except certain Aboriginal sole trader businesses, unincorporated groups without eligible auspicing, applicants that have not met Aboriginal Languages Trust project requirements in the previous two years, and applicants found to have provided false or misleading information in previous Aboriginal Languages Trust grant applications.
