Who Can Apply

• Be a not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) in New South Wales as set out in Clause 44 of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap • Be incorporated under relevant legislation and not-for-profit • Be controlled and operated by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people • Be connected to the community or communities in which services are delivered • Be governed by a majority Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander governing body • Be delivering or intending to deliver programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families in New South Wales • Have an Australian Business Number • Be registered for GST • Address the New South Wales National Redress Scheme sanctions • Have no outstanding acquittals with the Department of Communities and Justice • Be based in New South Wales and carry out the project in New South Wales • Maintain adequate and current insurance cover including Workers Compensation Insurance, Professional Indemnity Insurance, and Personal Accident Insurance • Have public liability insurance of at least $10 million per claim or be willing to purchase it
Applicants must be a not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation in New South Wales as set out in Clause 44 of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap. They must be delivering or intending to deliver programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families in New South Wales, have an active Australian Business Number, and be registered for GST. Applicants must address NSW National Redress Scheme sanctions, have no outstanding acquittals with the Department of Communities and Justice, be based in New South Wales for projects carried out in New South Wales, maintain adequate current insurance cover including Workers Compensation, Professional Indemnity and Personal Accident Insurance, and have or be willing to purchase public liability insurance of at least $10 million per claim.
