Who Can Apply

Must be a New South Wales business owner or sole trader with an ABN, or a charity/not-for-profit with eligible employee numbers. Must employ 0-50 full-time equivalent workers, or 1-50 for charities and not-for-profits. Must have operated for at least 6 months and complete an eligible SafeWork NSW education activity within 12 months before applying. Cannot have received this rebate in the past 5 years or other government funding for the same item.
Applicants must be small business owners or sole traders with an active ABN who employ between 0 and 50 full-time equivalent workers, or charities and not-for-profits that employ between 1 and 50 full-time equivalent workers. The business must have been operating for at least 6 months, be registered and operating in New South Wales, produce goods or provide services in New South Wales, and fall under the scope of the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011. The application must be in the name of the registered business owner, who must agree to the terms and conditions and must personally complete an eligible SafeWork NSW education activity within the 12 months before applying. Applicants must provide proof of purchase and payment for eligible safety items dated within 12 months prior to application. Ineligible applicants include businesses that have already received the rebate in the past five years, co-owners of an ABN where a rebate has already been paid, businesses with more than 50 employees, subsidiaries of larger businesses, voluntary associations, charities or not-for-profits with no employees, government departments or agencies, investment trusts or managed funds, strata title schemes, and businesses that have already received government funding for the same eligible safety item.
