Who Can Apply
• Must be a small business owner or sole trader with an ABN and 0 to 50 full-time equivalent workers, or a charity/not-for-profit with 1 to 50 full-time equivalent workers
• Business must be registered or operating in New South Wales and produce goods or provide services in New South Wales
• Business must have been operating for at least 6 months
• Business must fall under the scope of the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011
• Application must be in the name of the registered business owner and signed by them
• Business owner must agree to the terms and conditions
• Business owner must complete an eligible SafeWork NSW education activity within 12 months before applying
• Must provide ABN and supporting documents proving eligibility
• Must provide invoices, receipts and proof of payment for eligible safety items dated within 12 months before application
• Eligible items must be on the approved eligible items list and must be existing products, not second-hand or custom manufactured for the business
• Businesses that received the rebate in the past 5 years are not eligible
• Co-owners of an ABN already used to claim the rebate are not eligible
• Businesses with more than 50 employees are not eligible
• Subsidiaries of larger businesses are not eligible
• Voluntary associations are not eligible
• Charities and not-for-profits with fewer than 1 or more than 50 workers are not eligible
• Applicants who already received Commonwealth, State, Territory or local government funding for the same item are not eligible
• Government departments or agencies, investment trusts or managed funds, and strata title schemes are not eligible
Applicants must be small business owners or sole traders with an active ABN and 0 to 50 full-time equivalent workers, or charities and not-for-profits with 1 to 50 full-time equivalent workers. The business must be registered or operating in New South Wales, produce goods or provide services in New South Wales, fall under the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011, and have been operating for at least 6 months. The registered business owner must apply in their own name, agree to the terms and conditions, complete an eligible SafeWork NSW education activity within the 12 months before applying, and provide invoices, receipts and proof of payment for eligible safety items purchased within the previous 12 months. Ineligible applicants include businesses that have already received the rebate in the past five years, co-owners of an ABN already used for a rebate, businesses with more than 50 employees, subsidiaries of larger businesses, voluntary associations, charities or non-profits outside the 1 to 50 employee range, applicants who have already received government funding for the same item, government departments or agencies, investment trusts or managed funds, and strata title schemes.
